Quote of the Day: “Feel the fear and do it anyway.”

If you never get out there, you’ll never learn and grow. As scary as it may be at first, stepping outside of your own small world can be one of the best things for you and your spirit.

The day is here! Although I have been scrambling to get everything done right before leaving (I received my visa only 5 days ago, and 30 minutes before leaving for the airport I completely repacked my things and eliminated a whole suitcase!), I’m finally going to study abroad in France. Goodbyes were bittersweet, but I am fortunate to have supportive friends and parents to make my transition as easy as can be. I can’t wait to share my new experiences with everyone!

Within 24 hours I will be in my new home for the year. One second I’m nervous, one second scared, and one second excited and happy. Right now my biggest fear is just getting a taxi to the hotel! It seems frivolous but I’m worried no one will understand me or perhaps I won’t be able to carry all my bags. It’s funny what you end up worrying about; and I’m sure it will all go smoothly anyway. I can’t truly imagine what it’s like there but I am sure I will love it, as I have been dreaming of living in France for a while now. I can’t wait to have the beautiful French language in my ears and eyes and hopefully my own mouth 24/7 (although I might regret saying that after a few days of trying to understand and speak it) ! I look forward to all the new challenges and places and people and how I am going to grow. I’m ready for the year of a lifetime!
