I left my program in France a little over two weeks ago and although traveling with my brother and friends in the mean time has cushioned my departure it’s still a tough adjustment to make. Each day I see my program friends posting their first meal back at Culver’s/reuniting with their pets and it makes me wonder what returning to the states will be like for me. In three days I myself will be devouring cheese curds and playing with my cats and not leaving my mom’s side for a while. I have all of these plans but I know that sleep will most likely take priority, as I am exhausted from my backpacking adventure. (Woe is me, I know)
The day after my program had officially finished I set off to meet my brother and two good friends in Prague followed by three more cities to cap off my semester abroad.
It only seems right that I am ending this journey in Paris, France where I can enjoy a few more crepes and listen to the French flow in and out of my ears so effortlessly as I have grown accustomed to.
I am experiencing tons of emotions as I get ready to pack and it truly is the epitome of bittersweet. I am beyond anxious to see some faces I have been missing since January but there is nothing that gets my heart beating like France does so we will see how I cope upon my return.
