What is your most memorable experience from your program?

One of my most memorable experiences was seeing the skyline of Budapest while the sun was setting during one of the first days there. So beautiful and exciting to know I would be there for a few months.

How were your program academics similar or different from taking classes at UW-Madison?

The program academics were different in most ways. There aren’t office hours or advertised support opportunities. The lectures are longer but the frequency is lower.

What is your advice for someone considering this program?

You will be out of your comfort zone, but push to stay there so growth can happen! This is such an incredible place and try to soak up all the fun, hard, and transformative moments!

What is a custom, food or tradition from your host country that you are takin forward?

I think just the slowness of life there. Yes, Budapest is a big city, but there is a sense of slowness weaved in the culture. I want to learn from locals who didn’t pack their day chock full of events, didn’t have end times to hang outs, and enjoyed slower movement.
