Spending 2 months in China has allowed me to visit some pretty interesting places. Besides seeing the sites of Tianjin, I’ve visited Beijing and also Harbin. My favorite site to see in Beijing was, by far, the Great Wall. The enormity of the structure is unimaginable. It was definitely an experience I’ll remember the rest of my life. Harbin is a unique city in that it is relatively close to Russia. The Russian influence is seen not only in the people walking the streets, but also in the architecture and the food. It was a fun place to visit, and I saw my first Chinese blue-sky there. I apologize for the short entry, but in about 1/2 an hour I’ll be heading to the train station to start my journey to Inner Mongolia. I’ll be there for about a week having fun in the dessert and grasslands. I’m hopping to ride a camel! When I return, I plan on giving a detailed account of my travels to date. The word “excited” doesn’t do justice to my current feelings, and I can’t wait to visit such a remote part of China.
