This past weekend was our university’s special event against Korea University. This event is called 연거전 (Yonko Jun) meaning Yonko Game. Yonsei University and Korea University are rivals, and every year they have a competition against each other in baseball, basketball, hockey, rugby, and soccer. Unfortunately we lost 2-3. Attending their games was so much fun. The way the audience participates during the game is so different from our university. They like to cheer more than watching the games! Just like our university, they have cheers that they sing and dance too. However, while the game is going on, they continue to cheer nonstop! I was surprise to see them cheer throughout the whole game. They seem tireless, but the cheers are so much fun! Even Korea University have their own cheers and cheers nonstop. Even though we lost, nobody got angry at the other school and didn’t do anything crazy. They still continue to cheer afterwards, because they know that everything was just for fun! Afterwards, they had a special event at the school, where they had performances and special guests! This is definitely an event that should not be missed out on here at Yonsei University!
