May Festivals!

I swear Korea has so much fun festivals to go too!!! Why don’t we have them in the States or do I just not know about them?  Well one of the festivals this May that I went to was the Buddha Festival! So May 10 was Buddha’s birthday so we had no school.  On May 12, they had a festival going on in the middle of the street in front of this temple.  The offered a lot of free activities.  I made a lotus flower and a Buddha bracelet.  There were also different countries there to represent their country and their Buddha practice.  It was really interesting to see!

AKARAKA

What is Akaraka? Akaraka is Yonsei University school festival.  All universities here in Korea have festivals during this time of the month.  Basically the school has two days of activities where they have booths set up with free giveaway items and games.  The third day is the exciting day where they have a huge concert and they invite Korean celebrities to come perform for the school.  There were rumors on who will come, but in the end it was all false!  The performers were definitely unexpected.  Those that came and from whom I knew were Tiger JK, JYP, Girls Generation and etc.   It was a lot of fun! We did a lot of the school cheering.  Definitely one of the university events that I would not want to miss.

Korea University Festival!

I was also able to attend Korea University’s school festival!  Their crowd was kind of dead compare to Yonsei’s but they had some great celebrities that came like Huh Gak, Gummy, Kim Bum Soo, A Pink, Epik High, and 2ne1.  Getting out of this festival was the hard part!
