Me and a few other members of the Global Launch Program recently did the Big London Bake together through FIE! I had a lot of fun with it and it helped me get to know my friends here a little better. We were divided into teams of 2 or 3 and had about an hour and a half to bake a haunted castle themed cake.
I was on a team with two other people and made a chocolate cake with raspberry flavored icing. We decorated with ghosts and pumpkins and made a little Frankenstein. Even though it was just baking, I still think it was a good opportunity for teamwork and time management. Since we had limited time we had to figure out how to divide tasks and make sure we had multiple things going on at once so that we could finish in time. I worked on the cake while the others on my team did the frosting and made decorations. At the end all of our cakes got judged and even though we didn’t win it was still fun to see everyone else’s cakes and decorations, plus we got to take our cakes home and eat them.
I’m glad FIE offers activities like these that help us get out in the city and have some new experiences. I signed up for a few and I’m looking forward to the next ones.
