- Bibliobar: This unique outdoor library doubles as a bar right on the Tiber River, making it the perfect spot to spend an afternoon reading, journaling, and enjoying some aperitivo. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming with dozens of street art vendors just steps away.
- Peter’s Basilica Dome: For a breathtaking view of Rome, climb the stairs to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica’s Dome in Vatican City. The climb may be challenging, but the panoramic view of the city is worth every step. Pop into the impressive Basilica on your way down to experience the incredibly decorated architectural feat of the Renaissance period.
- Visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum: No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. These ancient ruins are an awe-inspiring reminder of Rome’s rich history. The ruins speak for themselves, but I highly recommend having a tour guide help you fully grasp their significance.
- Vatican Museums: Art lovers will be blown away by the Vatican Museums, which boast an impressive collection of masterpieces from Michelangelo, Antonio Canova, Raphael, and their contemporaries. You won’t want to miss the famous Sistine Chapel, which features Michelangelo’s iconic ceiling frescoes.
- Villa Borghese: The vast park just Northeast of Rome’s city center is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Go for a walk, rent a rowboat, set up a picnic, or visit Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s famous sculptures in the Borghese Gallery.
- Campo de Fiori market: This vibrant market is a feast for the senses with rows of tents and tables selling everything from fresh produce to artisanal cheeses to limoncello. Be sure to try some of the delicious street food while you’re there.
- Prati neighborhood restaurants: The Prati neighborhood is rich with restaurants the locals love. Sorpasso and Tavola are known for their amazing dishes and homemade pastas. On almost every street corner you can find a gelateria to indulge your sweet tooth after a fantastic meal.
- Shop on Via del Corso: Explore the many shops and boutiques on Via del Corso, Rome’s premier shopping street and a main artery through the city. From designer brands to charming vintage stores, there’s something for everyone.
- AS Roma match: For football fans, attending an AS Roma match is an exciting experience. The atmosphere at Stadio Olimpico is electric as passionate fans cheer and chant through the match and onto the streets afterwards.
- Cooking class: Learn how to make delicious Italian dishes with a Roman cooking class. Not only will you get to taste some amazing food, but you’ll also learn the history behind each dish.
