Meghan smiles on top of a mountain as clouds cover the tops of many mountains in the distance.
We enjoyed the mountain views on the way to the village stay.

How were your program academics similar or different from taking classes at UW-Madison?

The program academics were very different as we went to many organizations and watched a presentation and then discussed their organization. It was more of a Q & A than regular lectures.

What is your most memorable experience from your program?

My most memorable experience from the program is the village stay and hike! Both were experiences I would likely not have otherwise had or have again. There are very few opportunities to stay with a family and be fully surrounded by the culture. The hike was also challenging but rewarding!

What did you learn about yourself or the world because of your experience?

I learned that everyone’s definition of health and well-being is subjective to their lived experiences. For some, religion and spirituality play a big role in being healthy while others do not.
