Spain : Carrie Semenas (My Program Experience in 100 Words)

My program experience in 100 words

A tall, bronze statue of Don Quixote on a tall, stone pillar in a plaza on a sunny day.

My program experience overall was very positive. Although some things were more difficult to adjust to, like meal times, my transition to Spanish life was a fairly smooth one. I really enjoyed the multitude of opportunities to speak Spanish every day. It increased my comfort speaking the language greatly, and I feel that it has overall improved my Spanish skills a substantial amount! I was fortunate enough to have the best host mom who taught me not only about the language but also about Spain in general. I’m very grateful to have such an amazing opportunity on a beautiful campus. (Plaza de Cervantes pictured)
