Australia: Maren Stewart

Maren, wearing a Canada/Australia women's soccer scarf, smiles from the stands in front of a half-covered soccer field.
An avid soccer fan, Maren had the opportunity to attend a World Cup game between Nigeria and Canada.

UW-Madison senior Maren Stewart interned with The Fermentary in Melbourne, Australia this summer.

As a Consumer Studies and Marketplace Behavior major with a certificate in Entrepreneurship, Maren was able to put her communications and marketing skills into practice in this internship, helping the organization with content creation and promoting workshops and presentations. Of course, she soaked up a lot of Australian culture too.

While the internship includes a stipend, SoHE’s Summer Internship Scholarship also helped Maren financially support her summer experience abroad. Read the article, “Scholarship empowers SoHE students to pursue internships”, to learn more about Maren’s experience in Australia and how the School of Human Ecology supports students.

This UW Signature Internship was developed exclusively for UW-Madison undergraduate students by the International Internship team at International Academic Programs. Learn more about opportunities to intern abroad.
