Places: Routine & Favorite

A pond on a partly cloudy day filled with ducks on the water.
A room lit by candles has white paneled walls with golden accents and a grand fireplace.

Since coming to London my entire daily routine has been turned upside down. Which felt a bit overwhelming, having new experiences every day without a sense of stability I normally would have. So, when I first visited Kensington gardens I felt instant relief and a sense of calm. Readily making it a staple in my day. The beautiful round pond full of swans, geese, pigeons and ducks became my go to spot for reading. And on the days the pound is too busy I found a secluded alcove under a tree. Aside from the park, the A&V museum has also become a favorite of mine. From one end of the museum to the other feels like an entirely different building. Not to mention I am always finding new rooms and exhibits every visit. Making it a perfect mix of a familiar experience, or something to explore depending on the day.

A hallway with an arched ceiling letting in tons of natural light from windows. Different statues line the sides of the hallway.

I am aiming to push myself to make as many connections as possible. This being within and outside of the London Global Launch program through joining social groups at Imperial college, and other groups/activities in the community.

What do you most look forward to learning about London?

I am highly anticipating learning more about the historical background and relevance of different structures in London. As well as the social differences from what I am accustomed to and the norm here.
