A view of the city of Florence, with many red roofs, a large, domed cathedral, and a river with arched bridges, illuminated by the sunset.
This photo was taken at Piazzale Michelangelo, one of the best places to view the city of Florence!

What is your most memorable experience from your program?

My most memorable experiences were through my classes. I made so many amazing friends and while exploring the city of Florence.

What challenges or barriers did you face as you prepared to go abroad and/or during your time abroad? How did you work through them?

The biggest challenge I faced abroad was the language barrier. Sometimes it was scary to go to places alone when I knew they might not speak English. I learned to be patient and different Italian phrases that helped me communicate. Throughout my experience I became more confident in my independence.

This program helped me further develop my artistry while learning about Italian culture!

What is your advice for someone considering your program?

I had an amazing experience in the SRISA summer program! The staff are incredible and always there to help. SRISA offers field trips and cultural events to learn more about Italy. This program helped me further develop my artistry while learning about Italian culture!
