Drinking 'koffie' is a must in the Netherlands! Having coffee in the mornings or during breaks is a Dutch custom. I loved trying new cafes!

How will your experience benefit you in the future? How might it affect your future career or studies?

My experience will benefit me in the future because I now have a better understanding of myself and my goals. This experience allowed me to reflect on my values and life goals, and better orientated me to finding the right path for me, both in careers and life. I am grateful for the experience because I now have more interests that I would like to keep pursuing and studying thanks to classes I took while abroad. I would not have had the opportunity to learn about these topics at Madison!

Exploring all parts of the Netherlands was so fun! This is me visiting Amsterdam and seeing the famous canals.

What is you most memorable experience from your program?

My most memorable experience was visiting the Kinderdijk windmills just 45 minutes away from my university town. These windmills had been standing since the 1740s, and to see the Dutch history still alive and working today was incredible! Most windmills are still operational and lived in today.

What is your advice for someone considering your program?

I would advise someone considering this program to not hesitate and do it! Wageningen University is a very prestigious university, and while the classes are rigorous, it is well worth what you learn and gain from them. Know that they will take effort, time, and dedication, but the end result is worth the work!
