Forest Bathing

On my fall break to Scotland a group of girls and I decided to take a hike early in the morning and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to forest bathe. The hike was called Arthur’s Seat. We woke up at 6am and made our journey to the start of the trail. Walking to our destination was super calm. The city was dark and quiet. Once we came it was almost pitch black. I was a little nervous because I have never done a hike similar to it. It took us about an hour to make it to the top. There were two areas on the trail where you could stop. We opted for the highest one. It was a hard trek up but we eventually made it. On top of the mountain the sun was rising. It was an amazing experience as there were no clouds in the sky; it was beautiful. We sat on top of the mountain just taking it in and catching our breath. Others joined us on top of the mountain, it was still quiet there was only the occasional hushed chatter. Even though it was cold out we were all still hot from the workout we just had done. It was extremely peaceful and I was so grateful for the opportunity. I would do this hike many times over. It was a good challenge but was worth every bit of effort.
