England: Taite Miller (A New Experience)

Here is a picture of the goddess knotless braids that she did

Recently, I have had a super heartwarming experience with a new friend that I met. Her name is Cheyenne and I introduced myself to her the first day I arrived in London. The first thing I commented on was her gorgeous hair. She had long goddess locs with blonde highlights and I’ve never seen someone get that creative with it. I’ve never had hair like that in my whole life, the closest thing that I’ve had is jumbo box braids when I was super young. When I asked her who did them she said that she does all hairstyles herself, which is extremely impressive. Six weeks later I told her I was going to Paris with a person that I had a bit of a crush on and I wanted to look spectacular. To that she told me that she would attempt to do my hair even though she has never done anyone else’s. I ran pity to buy six packs of hair and the next night I ran to meet her at her accommodation.

For 12 hours I sat still on her floor while I worked on my presentation for class and she told me what it was like growing up in Chester, a suburb of London a few hours away. I never thought that I would find someone so kind and generous in a city this big while living by myself. We finished my hair at 4:30am on a Wednesday, even with it being so late she still stood and curled my ends, making sure everything was perfect. When I stood in front of the mirror I squealed and hugged her. I have never seen my hair look so pretty and long. I will never forget the effort that she gave me and I’m just so grateful that London brought me this unforgettable experience. I know this has nothing to do with academics or my experience in school specifically but this moment meant so much to me that I had to share it.
