Sustainability in London

The biggest way that I practiced sustainability in London is primarily through using public transportation. Before coming to London, my main form of transportation was driving. While in London, I’ve learned how bad driving was for the environment, and how using other means of transportation was substantially better. While in London, I’ve tried to better my impact on the environment by walking to as many places as possible, and if a place is too far to walk, taking the tube instead. Additionally, while in London I’ve reduced the amount of single use plastic bags I use. I used to use plastic bags in my life everyday, but since coming to London I’ve eliminated my use of plastic bags. While grocery shopping I use reusable bags, and I don’t use ziplock bags anymore.

I plan on continuing to use reusable bags upon my return to Madison, as that has a much better impact on the environment. Additionally, I plan while on campus to take the bus instead of bringing my car to school. Both of these methods will help me have a better impact on the environment.
