Describe your internship, research, or fieldwork and how the experience helped advance your career or studies.
My internship was at the Ealing Law Centre in London, which focused on housing, immigration, and social welfare law. This has tremendously helped me expand my legal knowledge internationally and has given me great experience in applying to law school and internships.
It takes time to adjust to an entirely new culture and country, so give yourself a little grace if you’re homesick for the first few weeks or you don’t love it immediately.
What is your advice for someone considering your program?
I wouldn’t expect to hop right away. It takes time to adjust to an entirely new culture and country, so give yourself a little grace if you’re homesick for the first few weeks or you don’t love it immediately. I promise that you will love it, especially with meeting all of your new friends and experiences happening!
What is a custom, food or tradition from your host country that you are taking forward?
I have become obsessed with tea with milk and sugar. I know it’s cliche, but I brought home English breakfast tea and I drink it almost every day. I am worried that I will run out soon. The English do tea and crumpets like no other and that is something I will be taking with me forward.
