What is your advice for someone considering your program?

I would advise people to go in it with an open mind and don’t be afraid if you don’t know anyone going in. I didn’t know a single person going but I met a lot of great people while abroad!

What is your most memorable experience from your program?

The most memorable experience from my program was simply living in a new country and adapting to their culture. Denmark is very known to be one of the happiest countries in the world and I could definitely tell through the many interactions I have had with local Danes.

I would advise people to go in it with an open mind and don’t be afraid if you don’t know anyone going in.

How will your experience benefit you in the future? How might it affect your future career or studies?

I have learned different perspectives of crime through this program and course. I was able to compare Denmark’s criminal justice system to the US, which was helpful for me. I want to pursue a career in medicine and it is important to holistically understand a person’s background.

What did you learn about yourself or the world because of your experience?

I learned that I can travel by myself and I have learned to be more independent. This was my first time traveling alone. It was scary at first, but I quickly learned how to navigate the country with the help of my peers and staff.
