South Korea: Kimberly Andrade (Final Reflections)
Final Reflections

With only four weeks until I head back to Wisconsin, I can honestly say that studying abroad was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Like many people, I had once thought that I would never muster up the courage to travel thousands of miles from home and live in a different country all by myself. However, this experience allowed me to learn more about myself as I overcame the challenges of studying and living abroad, specifically adjusting to an unfamiliar culture. For me, I feel like South Korea was the perfect choice. Not because I had a perfect experience, but because I felt a connection to the culture and lifestyle. Over time, I found a second home here in Seoul, where I grew not just academically but personally. The densely populated city produced a lively atmosphere that made me feel more connected with the people and the lifestyle. Though I still have four weeks to go, I am grateful for my transformative study abroad experience and I hope to return to Seoul in the future.
This program has brought me so many lasting memories, but my transformative experience was heavily influenced by the amazing people I met while studying abroad. I made friends from all over the world, who I got to meet thanks to my program. I developed connections with a diverse group of people by simply enjoying a great meal or traveling to a new neighborhood together. It brings me joy that I was able to share this special experience with others and develop a sense of belonging despite being so far from home.
