England: Max Ranft (A Home Away From Home in London)

The chaos of commuting throughout the city, and navigating the millions of people creates for a fast-paced environment. It is the pace at which daily life occurs in London that makes me appreciate the little moments of calm even more.

When reflecting on my experience in Global Launch, I anticipate that I will not miss the sight of Big Ben or Buckingham Palace nearly as much as the moments of peace while sitting outside a cafe. My morning coffees have revealed the importance of routine, and speak towards the significance in the seemingly mundane. Additionally, it has been satisfying to begin recognizing other familiar faces, and making friends with the workers.

My coffee order has changed over the last eight months; originally a chai latte, then a cappuccino, and I have recently been learning to enjoy a simple black espresso. When I can, I sit outside, and observe the people going about their days, and absorb the beauty of Kensington and Chelsea.
