My Top Five List

Explore Greenwich

Greenwich is an excellent place to spend a day out in London. It is on the bank of the Thames River and is known for its maritime history. There are many fun and free things to do in the borough such as go to the Maritime Museum, the queen’s house, and walk around the old Naval College.

A patch of grass is empty except for a large tree on a clear, sunny day.
Go to Hampstead

Hampstead is an area in the North of London. One of my favorite places to walk is Hampstead Heath which is a large park that has swimming ponds i n the middle of i t.

People are crowded into a space underneath a glass roof with shopping stalls on both sides. A sign that reads "Borough Market" hangs above the entrance.
Borough Market

Borough Market is an excellent place to find fun food and desserts or to just look around. It is always full of people and things to see as well as different foods to try.

Carts full of books with the spine facing up are sitting underneath trees on a sunny day.
Southbank Book Market

The Southbank book market is under Waterloo Bridge and is open every day. The market has a wide range of used books, some of which were released in the last year and others are hundreds of years old. The market also has many interesting photographs and artwork to look at.

A painting of sunflowers in a vase is hung in a wooden frame on a blue wall.
The National Gallery

The National Gallery is located in Trafalgar Square and it is a perfect place to spend a rainy day. The gallery has many beautiful paintings including works by Van Gogh, Monet, Rembrandt, and Holbein. I also love going to the National Gallery because it can be both a quick stop or take up an entire day and it is also close to many other destinations.
