Japan: Je-In Woo (Food in Tokyo)

Tokyo is indeed famous for its great foods; even before arriving to Tokyo, a lot of people expressed their jealousy of me about the foods that I’ll be able to taste while participating in an exchange student program. From ramen to udon to katsu, the list of foods that you can enjoy goes on and on and on. Let me give you a tip to find a good food place in Tokyo! Download the application called Tabelog (or go to their website), and check the number of stars each place has. If it has 3 or more stars, the taste is guaranteed. Above 3.5? It’ll be fantastic, but I have to warn you that there might be a long line waiting for you. Tabelog is the most trusted search tool among Japanese people, so instead of just sticking to the google reviews or Westerners’ blogs, why don’t you try to enjoy the “authentic” Japanese? Tabelog has an English service too, so no worries about using it!
My dorm, which is located right beside the Nakanosakaue station, has all kinds of good food places nearby. I found 3-minute away a ramen place and had dinner there last week. It was so good, as I was overwhelmed by the Umami and unique scent coming from Chicken broth. Like me, I hope you can find a wonderful, unexpected, authentic food place in Tokyo!
