Friends Along the Way

A selfie, taken diagonally. with five different people in a cobblestone courtyard in front of a castle with tall windows.
James, Rosie, Tyler, Emma and I on a walking tour of Prague Castle. James and Rosie were from Bristol and worked in the film industry for the BBC!

This semester has been off to an exceptional start. One thing I adore about being abroad is how friendly people are – Americans, travellers, and locals alike.

Three people in front of a metal fence next to a river with an arched bridge, and tall spires of buildings and churches in the city are illuminated in the background.
Tyler and I asked a family to take a photo of us in front of the Charles Bridge, and the dad hopped in on one! We all shared a laugh.

The new year brought a fresh batch of upperclassmen students to Metrogate (our flat). Down the hall, my new neighbours are very friendly. I clicked with Tyler and Emma immediately by showing them around London and sharing some of the lessons I learned last semester.

We took a leap of faith and went to Prague for a weekend, shortly after meeting. Not only did our friendship grow, but we made friends from all over!

A selfie of four people in a room lit with a dim, red light.
This is Tyler and I with some Austrian friends we made at an ice palace.
