The other day, I went with some of the group to go visit a petting zoo. It was an hour away by public transport, located in Canary Wharf. When we first arrived, it seemed to just be a normal park, and we weren’t sure where the petting zoo was located. We walked to the opposite end of the park, and found a little clearing in the trees where a path was. As we started walking, it was like we were in a whole different city. The trees covered any remnants of the skyscrapers, and all we could see was plants and dirt. The fresh air was incredible, and really made me feel like I was back at home in Wisconsin. As we continued along the path, we eventually made it to the petting zoo. There were pens for various animals, such as goats, pigs, sheep, and more. While we walked around that zoo, we met a family that brought their two children to the petting zoo. It made me realize that although many families in London are raising children in the city, they still make sure that each one gets valuable time in nature. I would definitely recommend visiting the park, especially if you miss the natural landscape of your hometown.
