I decided to go to the Tate Modern, an art museum that specializes in pieces of modern art. I typically am not a fan of modern art, but the museum had a large variety of pieces and I seemed to enjoy each exhibit we went into. I decided to talk to an employee at the museum for this piece. I asked the employee about the Museum and how they liked working at the Tate Modern. They said that they enjoyed their job and loved to see the different exhibits every time one was released and that talking about the art with the public was a favorite part of their job. I also overheard multiple people talking about the issue that although it was a free museum, the exhibits with well known artists and pieces typically had to be paid for. That they would love to see all of the modern art displayed in the museum and “Is it a free museum, if you have to pay to see certain things?” These types of conversations were also followed up by comments about the donation boxes that were plentiful. I noticed the donation boxes too. I did not find it odd that they were there, as these types of boxes are typically in places that are free to the public. I did find it strange that instead of asking for any donation as is typical in my experiences, they were asking for a ten pound donation. I would love to hear more opinions about the Tate Modern, more specifically about the art itself, as it is all very very beautiful and thought provoking. I would love to go back to see more of the Tate Modern some time during the rest of my year.
