Describe your internship, research, or fieldwork and how the experience helped advance your career or studies.

I was shadowing doctors and healthcare providers in New Delhi, Musoorie, and Dehradun.

What is your most memorable experience from your program?

My most memorable experience was shadowing Dr. George at Landour Community Hospital in Mussoorie.

What is the moment you are most proud of?

I am most proud of the friendships I made through the entire program.

What did you learn about yourself or the world because of your experience?

I learned to chill out and be okay with things being out of my control.

How did your identities impact your experience? What advice would you give to students with similar identities who are considering a similar experience?

I think being white and American made me stand out starkly in India. This caused discomfort, but by embracing the feeling of being an “outsider” I was able to allow the discomfort to propel change.
