My walk centered around walking alongside the river Thames and listening to the water run while enjoying a rare day of sunshine. I started at the Southwark bridge and made my way slowly meandering to the national theater. My walk was wonderful and I have very little to complain about, the last couple days had been rather rainy and dreary so having the sun out and feeling the warmth on my face provided a much needed break.
I went in the late afternoon, around three thirty, and saw a decent amount of people buzzing about the area but was fortunate enough to avoid any major crowds. While I walked I saw the Houses of Parliament and the London eye as well as lots of unique architecture across the river.
I plan to revisit the area closer to Christmas time before I leave for break as I heard there was a cool Christmas market full of lights and booths to go and explore. Growing up I was always attracted to nature, I believe this explains why I liked the area so much as it’s a good distraction from city life. My favorite part of the walk was hearing the river because it put me at ease and kept me in the moment.

Throughout this program I aim to develop a foundational knowledge of different political structures to build from in my future. I also hope to follow my passions and get involved in different sports and clubs offered to me as a student.
I look forward to learning about the city and its infrastructure as well as finding the best spots to study and eat.
