What is your most memorable experience from your program?
My most memorable experience was visiting all the little towns and attractions outside London. There are multiple places to visit in England that’s just a train ride away that are more than worth the trip. From the white cliffs of Dover to historic castles and residences that have been around for over 400 years, there’s something for everybody, you just have to go and explore!
What did you learn about yourself or the world because of your experience?
I learned that there are so many individuals who have more things in common with you than you’d expect. I had to travel halfway across the world to meet somebody who goes to a Big Ten school and whom we share mutual friends. Through our experiences abroad, we grew pretty close in a span of just days. In short, talk to everybody you can because you’re going to meet so many people, make lasting friendships, and do things you couldn’t do in the US.
London is one of the coolest cities in the world with no shortage of things to do, and the University of Westminster was a great experience.
How will your experience benefit you in the future? How might it affect your future career or studies?
This experience will encourage me to encourage others to study abroad. This was by far my most memorable, worthwhile, and fun semester I had at UW-Madison, and I wish I could do it all again. I cannot stress enough to anybody considering studying abroad to go do it. You will meet so many people, build lasting friendships, and visit places and do things you never thought about. It’s a huge world out there and I’m sure you haven’t seen much of it!
