UW Global Launch in London
UW Global Launch in London immerses first-year students in academic study, British culture, and service learning—all while earning core credits abroad.
Program overview
Global Launch in London turns your first year at UW into an immersive academic experience abroad—combining coursework, cultural exploration, and community engagement.
The selected cohort, led by a UW professor, engage in classroom learning, guided visits in London and overnight excursions. While exploring British culture, students complete core credit requirements and serve the community in which they live through an international service learning component.
Participants on this program receive the Chris & Suzy (Oldorf) DeWolf Family Global Launch Scholarship. Awards are $20,000 – $10,000 based on residency. This aims to ensure that the cost of study abroad for the first-year is comparable to the on-campus overall cost of attendance.
