Currently, I am undecided for my major. I hope that London will allow me to better develop my interests, and gain skills and knowledge that can guide me to a major that is suited to my future and interests.
What do you most look forward to learning about London?
I am really looking forward to exploring all of the museums and parks. London has some of the most incredible museums in the world, and the parks are extremely beautiful. Additionally, I am looking forward to learning a lot about culture and diversity.

One personal goal I have for this program is to fully immerse myself into the English culture. I hope to accomplish this by frequenting several establishments in London, such as small coffee shops and local libraries.
What do you most look forward to learning about in London? In London, I am looking forward to learning about Britain’s rich and complex history. In addition, I feel that I will be able to gain great insights into contemporary British culture, from its uniquely diverse population to its thriving arts, music, and culinary scenes.

What do you most look forward to learning about in London?
I am looking forward to learning from a British perspective across a variety of topics that spark my interest such as: art history, literature, and politics. Having a new perspective will challenge myself to learn and live outside of my comfort zone and broaden my horizons, as well as give me skills to bring back to Madison after the program.

I would love to widen my network by working with and meeting new peers, friends, and professors while studying abroad. I think it is a unique opportunity to study abroad in your freshman year, and I would love to take every chance to push myself outside my comfort zone to meet new people and form new relationships.
What do you most look forward to learning about in London?
The thing I am most looking forward to is learning about and experiencing another country firsthand. A lot of the classes that we are offered to take are about Great Britain specifically, and I am excited to learn so in depth about it. I also get the chance to explore the country and the city of London while in the program, which is something I have never had the opportunity to do.

One goal of mine is to develop my ability to communicate and work with others from all walks of life. I hope that learning about our history and experiencing a variety of diverse cultures will broaden my views and increase my understanding. Communication is exceedingly more important in our age and integral to success in the STEM field.
What do you most look forward to learning about in London?
What intrigues me most about London is its vast history. London and the UK have been at the forefront of history for centuries, but especially in terms of coffee; London and coffee go back further than even London and tea. As someone heavily invested in the beverage, I look forward to exploring London’s fascinating relationship with coffee and its history.

I am so, so excited to be a part of the UW Global Launch in London. I am currently undecided in my major and look forward to exploring different career paths and volunteering in another country. Throughout this program, I want to really put myself out there and focus on being present and awestruck. One of my main goals is to push my boundaries and form connections with lots of new people from diverse backgrounds.
What do you most look forward to learning about in London?
I want to learn everything about London, but mostly I am looking forward to learning about the history and culture present in the city. Being one of the oldest of the world’s major cities, I cannot wait to see the architecture, museums, and British culture in full force.

Throughout this program, I plan to expand my perspective on life in a city such as London, as well as my cultural awareness of living abroad. Living in America, I’ve been sheltered and accustomed to how American society works. Living in England I hope to explore and learn from observing and experiencing a new way of life firsthand.
What do you most look forward to learning about in London?
I look forward to exploring London’s historic sites, markets, and museums. I also am anticipating learning about London as a city and its history.

Choosing to go abroad my first year of college was a big step, but I’m hoping that this experience will provide me opportunities to expand my views of global issues and ways of life while also helping me in my journey of discovering myself and what I would potentially want to pursue when I return home.
What do you most look forward to learning about London?
With Britain’s film industry on the rise, I’m ecstatic to continue learning about my passion for film and see how British media, film, television, and programming, such as BBC, impacts Britain as a whole. I absolutely can’t wait to see what it’s like to spend a year abroad and want to explore as many different cultures and opportunities as possible.

One of my goals for this program is to push myself to have new experiences. Change and new experiences are sometimes hard for people, as it stresses them out, but I want to embrace it.
What do you most look forward to learning about London?
I am really looking forward to learning more about London’s history. I have not learned much about England’s history and there is so much to learn so it excites me.

Academically and personally, I want to encounter new situations and meet people with different perspectives to open my mind to new ideas and ways of thinking. I believe this can help me professionally as I am going into education. I hope to gain a better understanding of the world around me and to later teach the differing perspectives and ideas I learn to my future students.
What do you most look forward to learning about London?
London is a massive hub of cultures. I really look forward to learning about not only British culture but also the cultures other groups that are prominent in the area. As well, I’m excited to explore the LGBTQ culture of London.
